Today I went to a Spin Class, did some yoga, and then did some Hooping. I took my orange taped Hoopgirl hoop, which has a 37″ circumference, and did 281 waist rotations clockwise without it falling down right off the bat.
This is a big accomplishment for me considering it wasn’t but a few days ago I was struggling to do it, dropping it on my ankle bones here and there, and cussing a lot. Repetition is apparently the key in building muscle memory. I can now feel it and keep it moving fast enough with the rotation of the lower 40 between the bottom of the ribcage and my knees.
Adding to this was trying out my new 40″ Hoopnotic “Travel Hoop’, which can be broken into 6 sections for the first time today. It is slightly heavier than the other hoop, and I could keep it up! JUST LIKE THAT. The Hoopnotica 1 dvd, which I watched yesterday, was really good. The dvd not only shows how to most effectively waist hoop, but other basics, which to us new hoopers are miraculous and calorie burning. I AM STOKED. My goal is to practice a little daily and work my way towards becoming a certifed instructor sooner or later.
